After
having feasibility study of the healthcare market done by Med
contrivers, Dharmindra Nagar, Managing Director, Paras Hospitals looked
for land in Ghaziabad, Noida and Gurgaon. After the thorough study, a
land was acquired in Gurgaon and the work of the hospital commenced in
the beginning of 2005. In the first phase, 130 beds were commissioned in
July 2006. Another 50 beds became operational in October 2007 thus
making it a 250-bed hospital.
Focus Areas
Paras Hospitals started with focus on neurosciences, joint replacement and mother and child care. The department of renal sciences was started in November 2006 with six dialysis machines, uro-flowmetry etc. Interventional Cardiology and oncology with radiotherapy started in early 2008. There are 55 speciality departments including internal medicine, minimal invasive surgery, gynaecology and obstetrics, ophthalmology, dermatology and cosmetic surgery and plastic surgery, apart from the super specialties. The first surgery neuro-surgery was done in July 2006. "Paras hospitals was the first corporate hospital in Gurgaon with complete facilities under one roof," says Dr Nagar. The hospital started with cardiac centre with state-of-the-art cath lab and CCTVs OT in March 2008 with an average of more than 50 procedures per month. Other specialities include are the uro-nephro centre, skin and cosmetic surgery.
